God is in the radio, c-c-checking the station...

Hello all,
I've been trying to update this beast for the past couple of days, but I havn't been able to find the tiem 'til now. It's funny, really. I'm supposed to be tutoring right now, but since I can't do anything but help people with English stuff I am stuck with some freetime on one of the available computers. Not to bad in the long run, but I would rather be home than here.

I feel a little naked actually, like one of the students may round the corner any second and actually start reading over my shoulder. I guess I could just punch em in the face or something, but then there's all the lawsuits and the teaching occupation down the drain...

Yesterday was an excellent day here in the town of St.John's. Spring is certainly starting to rear its frightened and timid head. To celebrate the day, Kate and I took a nice walk in the park. Its amazing just how many people show up to Bowring park with either babies or dogs. But, it made me want to really get a dog once again. I am an avid dog lover. I have had two yellow Labs in throughout my life and I loved them dearly. Now I think I may invest in a black lab, once I get some extra money and a plae of my own. I really, really love dogs and I am very glad that Kate does as well. If she doesn't kick me to the curb anytime soon, our home will be littered with dogs I think. Two for me, and two for her. I just can't wait. All of this depend upon how well I do in the remainder of my internship (9 school days left, woohoo!) and how easy it is for me to get some substituting days once september and the new school year rolls around. We will have to see, but exciting nonetheless.

AfflacK! Quack! QuacK!

ast night, Kate and I attended a birthday party for her father, a local jazz musician and owner of the Music Studio. Needless to say the people that showed up were interesting. At first you had the regulars, or the family. None of which I had met before, but were expected by both of us. This group included us, even though I have only been dating Kate for about 7 months (jeez, its been that long already? woohoo), but I digress. On the otherhand we had young people, which consisted of students and fellow teachers at the Music Studio. They firmly set their territory around the food and beverage table, which I can't blame them for. Then there were some local musicians, and even the leader of the Buddhist movement of Atlantic Canada (or something like that; probably not so grand though), who, in a sidenote, helped in cleaning up after one of the Greyhound dogs as soon as she showed up (gotta love those buddhists). Now, if anyone knows me, they know I don't do well with new people, especially a great big bunch of new people, but it was quite painless, and there was only one I really wanted to punch in the face. :) All in all it was pretty fun.

I think that the best part of the night came after the party. Kate and I just went back to her house and we talked for an hour or so. I was great. We don't get a lot of time to sit down and do much of anything together, let alone talk, so I really enjoyed it. We talked about art, music, and writing, and it's really got my creative juices flowing. I can't wait to have some more free time in order to put it to good use. I really want to start sending things out to magazines and journals, so soon I will be looking in to doing something like that. On another sidenote, the Arts and Letters competition will be clueing up May 13th at the Rooms. Hopefully I will recieve some good news regarding that, but even if I don't I think Kate and I will take in the awards ceremony just for something to do.

One of my guilty pleasures for the last year or two has been watching UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter" and anything MMA. Really, I don't know why. I think it may have something to do with the complete brutality of the matches. It allows me to live vicariously through the men in the ring, and get some of my frustrations out. As for the reality series "The Ultimate Fighter" it is partially the fighting but also the odd personalities that are involved in the game. The new season is starting very soon (this thursday to be exact). The new coaches for this season is Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. Anyone who has watched anything to do with MMA know how much these guys hate each other. They just show absolutely no respect for one another, so it should be very interesting to see how they interact on the show. In one of the commericials it shows Ken and Tito almost duking it out and having to be separated by cast and crew (including their students). Obviously this will lead up to a grudge match after the show is finished, but I think that they will make the season.

Hrmm.. enough geek talk I think. I should probably go and supervise or something.

Catch ya on the flipside.

Jondre the Giant.
